cornfu > day 108: "the hills have eyes—south jersey". we drove to canton, nj to visit my brother and he took us on a quick tour down an isolated marsh-surrounded road. i loved the area as there are no wires or telephone polls. just a nuke cooling tower in the background... and a strange shack in the middle of the marsh... and NO cell reception... and, uh, it was kinda freaky actually. i hopped out of the van and ran half way up the planked entrance to take this shot ignoring the "no trespassing" sign and the full-on assault of green head flies. in mid-shot my brother beeped the horn and drove away leaving me. funny guy. he drove back. i may be heading back here to sneak closer next time. curiosity has me cranked to check out the shack.
cornfu > day 163 - taken after a massive downpour. the sky was cool looking so we rushed a quick setup. bounced a flash off of a white board at a slight angle upward.
cornfu > day 345: "full moon". with the new wolfman movie coming out and there actually being a full moon tonight i couldn't resist doing a wolfman shot. just started messing with brush settings and attempting fake hair/fur. i have a long way to go before it is realistic but i had fun none the less.
cornfu > day 170: "88's". a shot of my wife's upright piano. the ivory keys have seen better days. my wife plays piano in our church on sunday and she is quite good! now if i could just get her to play some harry connick, jr.
cornfu > day 209: "help me! help me! help me!". there is a nasty spider that has taken up real estate outside of our back kitchen window. i figured a cool shot would be a slight knock off of the movie "the fly". i cut out a little paper man (easier to identify thank a little paper fly-man like in the movie) and popped him into the web. the spider shot down and started to kick out paper man. it was pure creepiness to watch. i had to repeat this several times to get the shot i wanted. finally the spider gave up and shot back up the web. i went ghetto with the lighting with a cheap home depot light hung out of my back kitchen window to light the spider so my macro could actually focus. then i shot a flash through an umbrella at half power at 35mm. i had a lot of fun doing this one but now i swear i feel spiders skittering across me.
cornfu > day 317: i attempted to get equal exposure on the background and subject by setting exposure for the sky and hitting the subject with an off camera flash. unfortunately, i was late taking the photo and didn't have the right available light. so i went in a totally different direction. for the look of this shot i was inspired by foofighter's song "everlong" due to hearing it quite often thanks my kids playing guitar hero! the look of the video is great and has a few sequences that are a bit harsh in contrast/saturation. the video was based on the movie "evil dead 2".
cornfu > day 192: "vacation". day one at Ocean City, New Jersey for our summer vacation! i will try to post some shots every day but am dependent on snaking off some spotty wifi. the connection comes and goes. pictured here is a sweet sand castle we spotted on a walk up the beach this evening.
cornfu > day 146: "signs signs". it is easy to glaze over on my monotonous drive home. i am snapped to awareness with the familiar smells of dupont chamber works (imagine burnt monkey fur and rubber), awesome, thought-out signage and the sounds of cypress hill blaring from a passing mudder... "jump around, jump around". yep, i am home.
cornfu > day 218: "tea with a touch of spider". wake. get glass of tea. shower for work. go for big swig of tea. spot spider in glass. squeal like little girl. collect thoughts and get camera.

Not my best, crispest shot, but the fact that i almost downed a spider made this a "Shoo in".
day 170: "88's". a shot of my wife's upright piano. the ivory keys have seen better days. my wife plays piano in our church on sunday and she is quite good! now if i could just get her to play some harry connick, jr.
