cornfu > day 362: "sled crew". we had off for presidents day and took to the snow again. this area is the pennsville dike (dyke) built by the army corp of engineers to hold dredge from the delaware river. it is basically a big basin of mud and reeds where locals take their four-wheels or sacrifice small animals to satan. the last time i google-earthed the area it looked like ground zero from a meteor strike.
cornfu > day 361: "delaware". this was shot behind our church in wilmington, delaware. this is misleading since the edgemoor area is a little on the rundown side. our church is tucked into a hillside which is quite scenic for the area. if you stray too far you can see the industrial imprint of dupont.
cornfu > day 357: "school cancelled". my kids are really digging the second wave of global warming... oh, WAIT! "climate change" is what the eco-billionaires are calling it now! for the record, i am for taking care of the planet God left us with but i am not for doctoring "science" to push an agenda. But who am i to argue with al "i invented the internet" gore?
cornfu > day 355: "aftermath". the smooth, soft blanket of snow never lasts around my yard. no spot is left untouched. and according to the weather reports the kids are going to get a new canvas of snow to mark up this wednesday.
cornfu > day 354: "mogul". today we ventured out for some sledding. this translates into my older kids having a blast while i risk a stroke carrying a 2 and a half year old up and down a hill.
cornfu > day 353: "all flights grounded". spent the day just hanging out with the wifey and kids, making fun of al gore, and shoveling snow. i decided to skip digging my car out though.
cornfu > day 346: "standing guard". SNOW!! we were supposed to get passed by but got a few inches! so by default i had to grab a snow photo. i set a shallow DOF to get a few snow flakes in flight while obscuring some elements in the background. the goal was to take a bright setting and give it a heavy, gritty feel. i love that the hydrant looks like a person in the background. i wasn't trying for a "30 days of night" (creepiest vampire move ever... second only to salem's lot!) vibe but it does feel a bit creepy.
cornfu > day 316: "what lies ahead". happy new year's eve!
cornfu > day 306: "ill in the chill". tried to get a clever snow shot tonight but the cold wreaked havoc on my batteries and remote triggers. finally my canon batteries deep-6'd. this was the best of my blurred, off balanced work. my original intent was to pull off a night, zombie hunter type pose with a shovel and push an air of eeriness with the setting/lighting. but it looks more like "red neck burying cat at night in snow". the funny part was watching folks who were driving by pause with their high beams aimed at the dork running through snow with a shovel and a remote trigger.
