the goal: take photos daily and pick one per day to post. do this for a month. no theme this time.
Day 315: "art on the edge". passed through richmond, va on I-95 today heading home after visiting my parents for a few days. i REALLY wanted to divert into downtown richmond and snag some urban shots but we were on a mission to get home before DC/Baltimore traffic. from what i could see from 95, richmond seems to be in an economic decline. there is a lot of urban decay there. i spotted a few new tags since the last time we made the trip. one such tag is shown above. graffiti is a welcomed, colorful addition to the current bleak vibe of the area.
i masked and bumped the color of the graffiti (in photoshop) while pushing back the rest of the scene. i also used a slight vignette (in lightroom) to push focus on the center.
