day 68: working late to get caught up on a cartoon i owe for the company newsletter. we pick a target each month. this month is our finance guy who is obsessive about getting his peeps to submit their timesheets on time. if you don't you end up on the "hit list" that is emailed out. my name has proudly graced that list on a few occasions. and, yes, i am working on a mattress. hey, if i dose off i am golden!
day 67: it was 92º today in good ol' pennsville when i shot this. the wifey and i were hanging in the back yard killing some ice tea. she was reading and i was sketching out some storyboards for work. i tried to be clever with this one and capture the moment of the day and how relaxing it was. but i think this looks more like a red neck anthem. you have what appears to be jack daniel's in a glass, an empty garden and a fine above-ground pool! i make no apologies! i did have a few shots of the wife's wheels in heels as she was decked out nicely for church this morning but she warned me not to post.
day 66: Oops!? Must not be a Ginsu! the wife decided to pry apart frozen hot dogs with one of our chef's knives and broke the tip. i proceeded to give her the "a knife is not a crowbar/ you could accidentally unzipper gut" speech. she gave me the same look my kids give me in the middle of my "don't play in a thunderstorm while holding an umbrella with a mouth full of steel ball bearings" speech. makes picking a mother's day gift easy now, though!
day 66: shot of St. George's Episcopal Church in Pennsville. gorgeous day today so i figured i would venture out to snag a shot after work. good to get up from the laptop and actually walk... keeps the moss from growing on one's back.
day 64: napalm neil - this is a shot of my coworker neil at the "bring your child to work day". he was helping (cheating!) his daughter out with her advertising project. basically he was a ringer! all the kids walked through what we do in shop. unfortunately the shots i took of my kids today were blurred as they didn't stay still all day and i was flying without a flash. my two year old wore me down. not sure what i was thinking in taking my 4 kids to work without the wife support! kudos to all you mom's out there that wrangle kids all day on your own.
day 63: destruction in her wake... my 2 year old was proud as she spiked my son's framed soccer certificate and shattered the glass. we don't let her destroy things wholesale but every now and again she gets past our guard! this was on my wife's watch (heheh!). normally when something gets broken it is on my watch!
day 62: my wife never does the dishes... actually she cooked an awesome roast beef with mashed potatoes and corn. this is some of the aftermath. i posted this photo quickly due to thunderstorms. our neighborhood is infamous for losing power for hours. couldn't miss a photo post due to Connective taking their good ol' time getting the power up. side note: last time our power went out we called to get an update on the fix and were told it would be an hour. every time we called back the robot voice would tack on another 2 hours. i had to stop the wife from going for the phone for fear of more time being added on by the evil robot voice.
day 61: today was rainy, cold and windy. this photo was taken from the window overlooking our parking lot at work from the 3rd floor. i was gazing out daydreaming about just shutting down my mac and leaving for the day. didn't really pan out that way though. deadlines dictate leave time.
day 60: inspired by the horror/thriller (Patient Zero: A Joe Ledger Novel by Jonathan Maberry) I am currently reading. part of the story takes place in claymont, delaware. since i live across the river near claymont i had to check out the author's references. this is actually a photo of the purina chow building of of governor price blvd. no zombies... just ghetto goodness. there are a few other shots here.
