day 199: "live long and prosper... whilst writing on yourself with marker". my daughter has decreased her carbon footprint by using herself as a canvas instead of using paper.

the goal: take photos daily and pick one per day to post. do this for a month. no theme this time.

day 203: "game over". somehow this controller still works.

day 202: "objects may appear smaller than actual size". today i got my lazy rump out to the garage to work out. it was overcast plus i was listening to the cure's "staring at the sea–the singles" (note: NOT good workout music!) so the workout was not really that high energy. it was like flash-backing to the 80's except now i am not as strong as i was or as thin. i liked this shot because the dumbbell looks like a miniature and the colors were accurate to the overcast day.

day 201: happy labor day! my poor attempt at imitating the "rosie the riveter" poster (produced by Westinghouse for the War Production, created by J. Howard Miller). i was going to use the same color scheme of yellow background and blue overalls but was lazy on labor day! not to mention the overalls that i have are olive drab and about 10 sizes too big for my daughter. for the lapel i faked a westinghouse electric service badge. the work badges had a photo of that employee and a four digit i.d. number.

day 200: "like a rock". bug 0; chevy trailblazer 1. my wife actually spotted this shot and so i was obliged to drag out the macro. she was giddy with joy since she is not even close to being a fan of bugs. it also cheered her a bit as we had just come back from visiting her grandmother in the hospital. so, thanks little bug for the laughter you brought today! and sorry that you are wearing a chevy as a hat.

day 198: "starfish" or "4 kids and a head". we spent ALL day in the sand on our last day in Ocean City. the kids are all blue now knowing school is right around the corner. this week FLEW by.

day 197: dusk on the boardwalk. back to the OC boardwalk for carmel popcorn and t-shirts for the kids.

day 196: ocean city - day 5. "the chauffeur". my father-in-law drove my niece down to hang with us at the beach house for a few days. he is the most giving, mellow person i know. never complains. the drive is almost 2 hours for him.

day 195: today was windy and a constant pounding of sand. this kept me from taking my gear out on the beach for fear of damage. the beach was filled with kite boarders and uprooted umbrellas. the strange looking thing was all the people on the beach were facing south to avoid the sand blasting. my son and i braved the water which was actually warmer than sitting on the beach! the photo here is on the "safe" side of the dune which nicely blocked the wind.
