day 275: "love and sadness". today my wife's grandpop Luther (pictured to the right) saw his wife of 62 years buried. His face was etched with deep sorrow and tiredness. my son was of some comfort i hope. we should enjoy the allotted days God grants us with our loved ones as we are mere blades of grass in a hot sun.
day 274: "coworkers". extremely talented and never serious. two of the best animator/designers i know. here i was shooting test shots in an attempt to get the right exposure after setting up an off-camera flash and opposing reflector to take some photos for our team bios. co-worker #1 posed as #2 did the sneak attack with a bird bomb. to get the background to drop out all the way i should have closed down the aperture more and moved the flash closer. doing this would control the bounce/spill and keep the background black. i will revisit this until i get it right. my apologizes to those offended by the "tall man" gesture. i am used to them as i receive them on a regular basis in traffic.
day 273: "lazy". tired of taking close up shots and all my volunteers are in bed so it is me, an off-camera flash/umbrella and a remote trigger. the original photo is not blown out. used a lightroom preset called "x=city+scapes".
day 272: "craddle"
day 271: "red and blue". today my wife's grandmother passed away. Grammy was 83. My wife was trying to put on a strong face for the kids and did . she was sporting a bright red shirt but she was blue. she humored me by posing but i could clearly see she was lost in thought. i thought keeping her busy would help but it didn't. the plus was that at least my children got to meet their great grandmom.

p.s. i owed my wife a semi-normal photo after yesterday's picture!
day 270: "pandemic". with all the news of H1N1, standard issue flu, phone alerts from our local school system and the zombie books i tend to read i was inspired to do a knock-off of the movie poster for "28 weeks later". my wife was a good sport and posed. she even went as far as eyeliner and mascara! i didn't stick 100% with the poster and left out the bioharard symbol and the reflection of soldiers in the eyes. this shot was fun for me!
day 269: "five". my five at five guys. quick trip to delaware today for some home repair items led us to five guys burgers for lunch. i love that place! i tried to do a R.Kane on this photo. doesn't seem to have the same impact his work does!
day 268: "see you later". my little buddy, boo, saying goodbye to me as i left for work. today was a LONG day. full day of work followed by a trip to NYC to the CLIO awards (the first specifically for phamaceutical advertising) . our team was nominated for an interactive piece we did this year. had a great time but was a bit out of my element. didn't get back until late so my post is late. i so wish i had taken my camera. at one point i was outside on top of a building looking at the new yorker building and the city at night! i didn't want to risk taking my camera and not be allowed in with it. oh well.
day 267. squirrels love pumpkin. i KNOW halloween is past but this scene keeps getting creepier by the day! the squirrels have been chowing down on pumpkin head and the aftermath is rather cool. it's days are numbered!
