day 359: "birth". i finished my hack job of knitting a sackboy (from playstation 3 littleBigPlanet) a few days ago. anyone with knitting skills would think i have bricks for hands. it was a lot of hassle and frustration and swallowing of pride for a stinking prop!

the goal: take photos daily and pick one per day to post. do this for a month. no theme this time.

day 365: "level complete". what started out as taking 1 photo a day for a month finally landed me here one year later. it was definitely worth the work as i look back at some cool memories. the image above is a composite of a photo of sackboy taken today along with the scene created in cinema 4D. the scene is based on the littleBigPlanet game for PS3 and took about a day to design and render. the stickers are illustrations i created in the past and added post. sackboy took me about 2 weeks to make and was created specifically for this shot. he has since been abducted by my daughter!

day 364: "super, man!". DAY 364... THREE SIXTY FOUR! i am a day away from a year of photos and i am feeling super! this project started off as a month of photos and i decided to make it a full year. i am in shock that i actually stuck to this! part of it is the feedback from fellow smugmuggers that kept me amp'd and going. thx, gang!

day 363: "sleep". night lights have come a long way. my girls have a giant bug on their wall. the green has a nice calming effect. speaking of sleep...

day 362: "sled crew". we had off for presidents day and took to the snow again. this area is the pennsville dike (dyke) built by the army corp of engineers to hold dredge from the delaware river. it is basically a big basin of mud and reeds where locals take their four-wheels or sacrifice small animals to satan. the last time i google-earthed the area it looked like ground zero from a meteor strike.

day 361: "delaware". this was shot behind our church in wilmington, delaware. this is misleading since the edgemoor area is a little on the rundown side. our church is tucked into a hillside which is quite scenic for the area. if you stray too far you can see the industrial imprint of dupont.

day 360: we ended the day with the smell of baking sugar cookies for valentine's day tomorrow!

day 358: "mercury rising". photo of a standard issue ice sickle mid-melt. shot with a macro to kill the background. out of curiosity i hit the shot with a few lightroom presets and landed on "Creative Catalyst 15". it is one of those presets that rarely looks good on a photo but it worked great on this one. kind of fun turning a harmless winter shot into something from an "aliens" movie!

day 357: "school cancelled". my kids are really digging the second wave of global warming... oh, WAIT! "climate change" is what the eco-billionaires are calling it now! for the record, i am for taking care of the planet God left us with but i am not for doctoring "science" to push an agenda. But who am i to argue with al "i invented the internet" gore?
